Mobile Crane 3rd Period Apprenticeship Technical Training
This 6-week course follows the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (A.I.T.) Crane and Hoisting Equipment Operator Outline. The course offers a combination of theory and instructor-led practical training. The course covers federal and provincial regulations, crane components and systems, mathematics, load chart interpretation, and operating procedures. Practical training includes crane inspections, set-up, configuration, and operation. Students will complete field exercises using a Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 all-terrain crane, a Tadano GR-350XL-2 rough-terrain crane, and a Kobelco CK850G-2 crawler crane. At the end of the course, students will write the provincial third period mobile crane examination and the Red Seal exam with A.I.T. Third Period Mobile Crane accreditation will be awarded to successful students.
