Our Team

Sandra began working at age eight, peeling gunny sacks of potatoes and onions. She entered the Operating Engineers while working at Grande Cache Coal for North American and became a member in 2008. Known for her strong commitment to safety and ensuring crews follow established rules, Sandra brings dedication and responsibility to every job. One of her most memorable roles was serving as a medic for BC Ferries. She credits mentor Brian Maccan for guiding her as an apprentice crane operator and Sirje, a retired superintendent, for recognizing her potential. As an Executive Board Member, Sandra is focused on learning members’ needs, standing up for them, and keeping safety the top priority.
