A 26-year member of Local 955, Mike has an extremely varied career. With his Red Seal ticket as a Mobile Crane operator and a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Mike has experienced everything from Supervisor over all trades in an Industrial Maintenance environment to working as a Foreman, to being the Manpower Coordinator dealing with the building trades unions. Mike has also had the role of Shift Coordinator over all trades during the commissioning of an upgrader facility.
Mike is a certified NCSO, and has worked as a Safety Coordinator for several years as well as participating on various Safety and Labour Management Committees. He has had the opportunity to participate and chair Bargaining committees in several different sectors of Local 955, including the Crane Rental negotiations, CLR Industrial, Counties, School Divisions, and Equipment repair/Maintenance shops. He also participates as Vice President for the Building Trades of Alberta in the Northern District. In the past, Mike has also volunteered as a Job Steward for a number of years while working in the field.
Currently, Mike is serving on the Executive Board as President. He started in 2006 as Treasurer, and then as Vice President. Mike has worked with the Union office since October 2005.
