A Message from the Business Manager

Today marks the one year anniversary of the evacuation of Fort McMurray due to the wildfires. This has been a difficult year for most of our members but especially for our Brothers and Sisters from Fort McMurray.

During the initial weeks following the evacuation, Local 955 was able to provide relief funds of $500 to 1,773 members and their families. Also, the International offered $5000 USD to over 200 members who lost their homes. I know our members were grateful for the help they received during this time, but I also realize that their struggle isn’t over. It takes time to rebuild.

And so today, I want to remind our members from Fort McMurray that your Union is behind you. We are all here to support you in whatever way we can.
